It is exciting to see nursing and allied health students experiencing the state-of-the-art medical training facility at the redeveloped Pimlico TAFE in Townsville. The new building also includes a full commercial training kitchen incorporating 12 bespoke kitchen exhaust hoods for a range of different cooking lines. This was successfully coordinated in a very tight ceiling space.
All spaces are designed with the focus on light, bright learning spaces for students.
Our mechanical team designed with the hot and humid, northern Queensland climate in mind. The outside air preconditioning systems can constantly dehumidify the outside air, reducing the risk of mould and providing fresh internal conditions for students and teachers.
Our design integrated Townsville’s local cyclone requirements including pressure relief arrangements and strengthened internal glazing.
