Being part of a project that gives back to a remote community was a rewarding experience for our design team at Multitech Solutions. The new Boulia Primary Health Centre and Wellbeing Centre will improve health outcomes for some of the most isolated communities in Queensland.
The design responded to the remoteness of the site by using modular construction allowing the modules to be constructed in SE Queensland and put together on site. The services were carefully designed to allow for easy interconnection between the modules in Boulia. Air conditioning used simple split systems to allow for easy maintenance and replacement.
The facility included an ER, treatment bay, X-ray room, consultation rooms, pharmacy area, administration areas, amenities, ambulance bays, self-care dialysis units and secure staff accommodation.
